What To Wear
Clothing
Please ensure you wear layers of clothing to keep warm. Long loose trousers, a shirt, a fleece or sweatshirt and then a lightweight cagoule/waterproof coat in the event of rain. These layers can then be removed or then added one layer at a time if needs be.
Footwear
Walking boots with a flexible sole and with a deep tread are best footwear.
Please contact us if you need any advice about the above.

Martin Radford –
The Nordic Walking has been extremely beneficial to my rehabilitation following on from my
above knee amputation. It has helped improve my core strength and just as importantly my
confidence. I think that one of the opinions of the staff at the Bristol Centre for Enablement
was that I didn’t have enough confidence in myself regarding walking in different
environments. This has improved significantly over the time I have been walking with Emma. I
have a tendancy to use crutches as I feel more secure with them, but Emma has given me the
confidence to use poles at the times where & when I feel comfortable with the environment.
Over this time, Emma has been a great help & given so much encouragement and for that I
am extremely grateful.

I shall enrol for the Tuesday 2pm nordic walking.
I am determined — at last — after 40 years of just TALKING about it —to WORK at improving my health and fitness. Best Wishes, A
