Katie is a great teacher! She made the course interesting and fun! I have Parkinson’s Disease and had heard that Nordic Walking is beneficial for people with this condition, and it certainly is! Katie’s knowledge, experience and teaching method really has helped me enormously. I look forward to continuing with the walks regularly. Thank you so much Katie.

Completing the Beginners Course with Katie was my New Years resolution and it’s given me a huge sense of achievement and confidence. I’ve learnt that there is much more to Nordic walking and you need to use the poles effectively to improve balance, strength and cardio fitness. I’m in the best possible place to continue my walking with the Nordic4 groups and on my own; it’s so important for me to take time out and do something for myself and I have loved Katie’s calm, nurturing and mindful way of connecting with me and the outdoors. So much so I got a bit teary at the end of my final lesson, but I’m putting that down to those pesky hormones!

Turned out I love walking in the cold and wet!! at least with Katie I do. Great lessons – I learnt how to hold myself properly when walking and my shoulder/neck pain stopped. Great to do after leaning over a computer screen all day. Good work out and afterwards a hot bath or hot tub is good for the muscles. Would highly recommend it. Now go on a long Nordic walk every other day.
I started with the taster and moved onto beginner lessons.

I have just completed a beginners follow-up course with a friend.
Having suffered from fibromyalgia for the last 15 years I have found it increasingly difficult to find any exercise that is enjoyable or sustainable.
From the minute I met Katie I knew I was in safe hands. Katie is endlessly patient and kind, and we laughed a lot!
She is clearly an expert in her field of teaching Nordic walking ,and I really appreciated being taught 1 to 1 , or 1 to 2 to enable Katie to ensure that I mastered the fundamental techniques correctly. Katie teaches at your own pace and her enthusiasm is contagious.
Katie also listened and understood my physical constraints, adapting sessions when necessary.
Nordic walking is such fun and my fitness levels are definitely improving. Its so lovely to be out in the fresh air and I can’t wait to carry on with some of the other groups Katie offers.

Driving past The Downs I was always curious about walkers with poles who all seemed so focussed on their walk and in addition friends participating in Nordic Walking had only positive things to say about this activity. When I signed up for a four day trek in Atlas Mountains, Morocco I wanted to prepare well and therefore decided to take 1:1 lessons from Katie. She was brilliant at teaching me the NW techniques but also incorporated steps that would help me with my trek practicing uphill and downhill moves using poles in order to ease pressure off my joints. I have now successfully completed my challenge and can say that without Katie’s teaching methods I would have struggled. I feel great, have shed a few extra pounds and look forward to my Nordic Walk every week around beautiful Bristol ! Thank you Katie

I have walked with a friend and just completed 5 sessions learning the techniques of Nordic walking. It was a lot harder than i imagined and my arms ache more than my legs! ? But I have loved every minute of it, my mind was focused my core muscles were being worked and my posture has improved. All this was down to Katie our professional friendly trainer who layered our training every week with encouragement and patience. Would not hesitate to recommend Katie to anyone interested in learning Nordic walking. If your looking for some ‘me’ time then I suggest you give this ago.

It was suggested I try Nordic Walking to help improve my osteoporosis & build up my muscles which had wasted due to illness.
Katie is not only an excellent teacher but is being so careful in ensuring that in each lesson she introduces just the right level of technique ensuring I don’t overdo it and do more harm than good – it is also so enjoyable and fun.
